New Operating System Offers Manufacturer Enhanced Security

Overview Sirona Dental Systems is a leading global manufacturer of dental equipment. Headquartered in Bensheim, Germany, the company develops innovative devices and systems for dental practices, teaching hospitals, and dental laboratories. Many of its employees are mobile and work to supply customers worldwide. Using Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) or the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS), they connected to the corporate network from airports, conference rooms, or hotel rooms, accessing the software and information they need. However, because users needed administrator rights on their PC to connect to the WLAN, Sirona left its systems vulnerable to security risks. By deploying the Windows Vista operating system, Sirona now provides its employees with a wide range of security features that offer enhanced protection.
