Overview Today's increasing requirements for application availability combined with growth of data volumes dictates a paradigm shift for solutions. IT environments are faced with the combination of this data growth and shrinking backup windows to get their backups completed. Restore Time Objectives (RTOs) and Restore Point Objectives (RPOs) are also becoming more stringent, increasing the importance of a highly reliable, high-performance backup environment. Adding more tape resources, infrastructure, and cost to the issue may offer incremental gains. Disk-based backup solutions that leverage current environments are the solutions for backup issues.
