Object-Oriented White Papers

Component Testing With IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software

Overview Component testing is the act of subdividing an object-oriented software system into units of particular granularity, applying stimuli to the component's interface and validating the correct responses to those stimuli, in the form of either a state change or reaction in the component, or elsewhere in the system. If one has ever attempted it, one knows that as beneficial as component testing can be in helping to find problems early, it can also be so costly and problematic that testers may wonder whether it's really worth the effort.
