Overview This paper provides best practices related to implementing HP PolyServe Software for Microsoft SQL Server, version 3.6. With HP PolyServe Software, one does not need to know the exact number of instances to determine the consolidation ratio. Instance mobility and the ability to react to change eliminate the need for months of analysis, making the basis of the consolidation ratio budgetary more than technical. Besides instance mobility, one can add or remove servers dynamically and with minimal impact, diminishing the need for 100% technical accuracy.
