Beijing MTR Enhances Budget Control, Streamlines Accounting Processes
Overview In February 2005, three private sector entities entered into a public-private partnership with the Beijing Municipal Government to create the Beijing MTR Corporation. The scale of the project and number of parties involved required Beijing MTR to maintain tight control over costs. The organization wanted to automate accounting, budgeting, asset management, and data collecting processes to maximize efficiency and create clear audit trails. In September 2007, Beijing MTR went live on an integrated financial management platform based on Oracle Financials modules. The solution enabled the organization to streamline workflows, improve budget control, speed financial reporting, and enhance asset management. The accuracy and currency of data also supports informed decision-making and reduces risk.
