Overview Founded in 1986, Beijing Tobacco Monopoly Administration oversees the tobacco industry in Beijing. Beijing Tobacco Monopoly wanted to construct an integrated IT infrastructure that offers high performance, reliability, and availability and enable online information sharing and collaboration. The challenge was to utilize any spare capacity to improve system performance and simplify IT maintenance to reduce costs. The company deployed Oracle Database and Oracle Real Application Clusters to build a powerful database environment to support 24/7 operations and ensured high availability by adopting a clustered server solution, which distributes workload across multiple machines to maintain stable system performance.
