Exchange 2000 Disaster Recovery for Service Providers

Overview This paper is intended to provide an overview of Disaster Recovery Planning and Procedures for Service Providers (ISP, ASP, etc.). It provides planning information and best practices for preventing disastrous consequences, and solutions on how to position the Exchange 2000 environment for rapid recovery. Since Exchange 2000 is dependent on Windows 2000 and the Active Directory it briefly addresses Disaster Recovery in those areas as well, however the focus is on a rapid recovery technique to minimize Exchange Server downtime. The technique is called Rapid Online, Phased Recovery (ROPR) and detailed procedures are provided.
