IBM HTTP Server for z/OS: Benefit of Asynch I/O Support Provided in APAR PQ86769

Overview This paper is based on a benchmarking effort of the Washington Systems Center on behalf of a large banking customer. The benchmark involved many different test scenarios, but this paper focuses on one particular element of the test. The use of a scalable IBM HTTP Server, but configured without queue servers. It used a queue manager only. And the use of a code enhancement which allowed the queue manager to host a large number persistent connections by employing asynchronous I/O.
