Interval Processing Improvements in Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS 8.3
Overview Interval processing is an ever popular scheduling technique required by numerous administrators responsible for scheduling on z/OS environments. Tivoli Workload Scheduler for z/OS (TWSz) has traditionally offered two solutions for interval processing OPCINTVL "AS IS" Program Interface Facility (PIF) code, and multiple operation occurrences construct. With the new release of TWSz 8.3, TWSz has the most robust and easy to implement solution for interval processing of any of its earlier options. This new feature is called the EVERY Run Cycle option. This paper will introduce the interval solutions of prior versions and then demonstrate how the newly provided EVERY Run Cycle option simplifies the implementation of interval processing with TWSz.

Dynamic Load Balancing of Virtualized Database Services Using Hints and Load Forecasting
Future database application systems will be designed as Service Oriented Architectures (SOAs), in contrast to today's monolithic architectures. The decomposition in many small services allows the usage of hardware clusters...
Network Load Balancing: Configuration Best Practices for Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003
Some routers require a static ARP entry because they do not support the resolution of unicast IP addresses to multicast media access control addresses. For example, Cisco routers require an...
Customer Benchmark Results for Oracle Database 10g on the HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array 8000
With increasing demand on Oracle DBAs to deliver greater performance at lower total cost of ownership, one must have a highly efficient and versatile storage platform. These tests prove that...
WebSphere Application Server V6.1: Workload Management Problem Determination
WorkLoad Management (WLM) is a WebSphere facility that provides load balancing and affinity between application servers in a WebSphere clustered environment. WLM is an important facet of performance. WebSphere uses...
Microsoft Windows Terminal Services: How to Configure Network Load Balancing
During this session, we will discuss how to install and configure Network Load Balancing for Windows Terminal Services. This is primarily accomplished through clustering.
