Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Unicode Data Conversion Techniques to Improve Performance: IBM System i5

Overview This paper outlines the process to migrate a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne non-Unicode database to a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Unicode format. The reasons for considering a Unicode conversion, performance characteristics, and techniques to reduce conversion time and database sizing issues are also discussed in this paper. Although some of the Unicode migration concepts are common to all JD Edwards EnterpriseOne supported platforms, this paper is targeted for IBM System i customers. The performance data and tools provided in this report are specific to the i5/OS database.
