Implementing Custom Databinding and Custom Function Selectors in IBM WebSphere Adapters
Overview Data bindings transform the data produced by Enterprise Information Service (EIS) services into data consumed by Service Component Architecture (SCA) components and vice versa. One can use data bindings to transform binary data to an Service Data Object (SDO) data structure during inbound flow and transform the SDO to binary data during outbound flow. There is a functional gap due to the lack of generic data transformation services for use by IBM WebSphere Adapters Version 6 (hereafter called Adapters) and other edge components. For example, the Flat File Adapter is agnostic of the content of the files it processes, and thus, treats the contents of the file as a byte array.
