Healthcare Solution Provider Finds Competitive Advantage in Move From SCO UNIX to Windows

Overview American HealthNet wanted to increase ease of use for both the business users and IT staff at its customers; customers neither knew nor wanted to learn SCO UNIX. The company also wanted to expand functionality - both by adding modules for new uses, and by enabling interactivity over the Web. The company recreated its software as Clarus, a native Windows solution using Microsoft .NET technologies. It adopted SQL Server 2005 (64-bit), created a physicians' Web portal, designed an all-new graphical interface, and expanded to 33 modules that manage electronic medical records, clinics, long-term care, home health, and others.
