Managing Mobile Devices Safely and With Less Effort

Overview The administration of mobile devices is a major challenge for organizations. Registration, configuration, and management are often costly and laborious. Also, integrating into a central IT infrastructure requires certain security precautions. Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC) has solved this problem safely and cost-efficiently. All employee handhelds are now integrated into the IT infrastructure using Microsoft technology. With the SMS Device Management Pack, an enhancement of Microsoft Systems Management Server 2003, the FSC System fully meets the requirements to manage approximately 800 mobile devices. The system stores all information regarding these mobile computers centrally in Active Directory, and provides the devices with encrypted maintenance data. This has enabled FSC to apply central regulations for a more secure and efficient management of mobile equipment.
