Not surprisingly, the result is a growing state of misunderstanding and confusion, culminating in the inability of organizations to readily separate fact from fiction. Indeed, amidst the haze of imprecision there is even a proposition that achieving comprehensive network-based protection requires little more than intrusion prevention and, of course, firewall capabilities.
