Greater Access to Data Helps Danish Foreign Ministry Resolve Network Issues Quickly
Overview For state security reasons, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark uses two separate computer network environments. Multiple management groups in Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2005 and Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 track the performance of the two environments. The ministry wanted a way to consolidate reports from these disparate MOM 2005 data sources and correlate them with information from SMS 2003. In October 2005, the ministry worked with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Globeteam to deploy Microsoft System Center Reporting Manager 2006. The ministry's IT staff currently uses the historical data Reporting Manager 2006 provides to troubleshoot performance issues with network resources - determining whether these issues coincided with changes made to the environment in the past.
