University Uses Robust IP Network to Deliver Advanced Teaching and Learning Tools
Overview To sustain the quality of its education, Ajman University of Science & Technology in the UAE believes in continual evolution of its teaching and learning practices. Ajman University of Science & Technology wanted to implement advanced teaching and learning tools. A highly resilient Gigabit Ethernet IP network, based on the Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600, with Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 5500s delivering Gigabit connectivity to the edge was deployed. The Nortel VPN Router 2700 enables highly secure remote access to the network, whilst the Nortel Threat Protection System identifies and proactively prevents network intrusions. The Nortel Application Switch 3408 ensures high availability and performance. Finally, the Nortel Enterprise Network Management System helps staff monitor network performance with ease.
