Overview Hotel Schloss Velden in Austria is one of Europe's most respected hotels. Originally a summer residence built in 1603, it was converted into a hotel in the 19th century and offers elegant accommodation and spectacular views over the Worthersee. Hotel Schloss Velden wanted to transform this luxury hotel by combining its traditional, elegant styling with state-of-the-art communications solutions. The hotel deployed a high-availability backbone formed of Nortel Ethernet Routing Switches 8600 and 5500, the Nortel Communication Server 1000 and the Nortel Application Gateway 2000. The Nortel Wireless LAN 2300 Series enables mobile communications. The Nortel IP Phone 2007 offers all guests a user-friendly interface for the hotel's 'Infotainment' system.
