Software Provider Halves Time-to-Market; Saves U.S.$180,000 in Move From Oracle

Overview Cincom's customers wanted to take advantage of the company's CONTROL manufacturing enterprise management application together with Microsoft SQL Server 2000. To respond to that demand, Cincom is moving its CONTROL software from UNIX and the Oracle database to the Microsoft Windows Server System integrated server infrastructure software. The migration to Microsoft Windows Server 2003 sped time-to-market by 50 percent and cut development costs by U.S.$180,000 compared with UNIX development. Faster time-to-market means faster time-to-revenue, and the company expects that moving to the more cost effective Windows Server System will enable it to double its customer base for CONTROL, boosting revenues further.
