Everything Under Control at Embratel

Overview As the largest telecommunications network in Latin America, Embratel routes up to 40 million calls per day. With interconnection costs representing nearly 50 percent of the company's gross margin, Embratel needed a flexible solution for managing these costs that would also adapt to future needs. Embratel chose iXTools, a solution based on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Intel architecture, and Xeon processor-based servers. Microsoft provided the core technologies and consulting support for the project lifecycle, while Intel performed simulations and overload testing - the support combination resulting in a solution that set a new standard for the telecommunications industry.
