Argentinean Exchange First to Trade Financial Derivatives Thanks to New Server Platform

Overview Mercado a Termino de Rosario S.A. (ROFEX) wanted to expand its agricultural commodities-based trading portfolio into the financial sector. The company's Microsoft Windows NT Server operating system 4.0 did not have the security capabilities, scalability, or messaging platform to support this objective. ROFEX became the first company in Argentina to trade financial derivatives after upgrading to Microsoft Windows Server System, including Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and deploying Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003. The solution's integrated collaboration and communication tools increase managers' productivity as they travel to Buenos Aires to meet financial clients. Central network management tools and remote desktop administration are saving ROFEX U.S.$30,000 a year in network management costs.
