BizTalk Server Portal Helps Businesses Slash the Time and Work of Registration
Overview To promote development of new enterprises, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania provides a one-stop business registration portal. Aggregating and automating the business-registration requirements of the Commonwealth's Departments of Revenue, State, and Labor and Industry, the "Pennsylvania Open for Business" (PAO4B) portal allows businesses to electronically register with all three departments through a single gateway. Designed by the Commonwealth with Microsoft Consulting Services (MCS) acting as prime architect, the PAO4B portal uses a clustered "hub-and-spoke" architecture built on Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 to distribute data via the Internet to the three departments' back-end systems, allowing them to maintain their existing business processes while reducing manual processing of paper forms.
