Nessus Vulnerability Scanner
Overview Internet "Insecurity" is a major problem in today's web of interconnected computers and networks. Attackers such as script kiddies, hackers, and crackers are of course a major part of the problem. However, they are just that, a part of the problem. Why? It's quite simple. What good is an attack, without a subject to attack? Would be attackers get a lot of help from vulnerable systems such as networks, computers, servers, and software applications that are begging for attacks? Typically these attacks are easily carried out by exploiting the vulnerabilities. This paper will cover a free open source tool that can be used to discover the vulnerabilities of a given system.
