Business Management White Papers

Open a File

Overview When the user opens a file in Microsoft Office, he or she has several options for how the file opens. The user can open the original file for editing, open a copy, or open the file as read-only, which prevents the user from saving the file unless the user save it by using another name. When the user opens a file as a copy, the program creates a duplicate of the file, and he or she looks at the duplicate. Any changes that the user makes are saved to the copy. The program gives the copy a new name.
