Security Standards White Papers

A Comparison of Electrical Sector Cyber Security Standards and Guidelines

Overview This paper presents a review and comparison (commonality and differences) of five security standards and guidelines in the electrical distribution and control area. The comparison identifies security areas that are covered by each standard and/or guideline and reveals where the standards/guidelines differ in emphasis. By identifying differences in standards the user can evaluate which standards best meet their needs. For this paper, only standards applicable to the electrical sector were reviewed.
