Hosting Data Center Networking With Vyatta
Overview This paper will show how Vyatta open-source software combined with off-the-shelf x86 hardware can be leveraged to perform most routing and firewall requirements in the hosting data center at a fraction of the cost of closed proprietary systems. While proprietary networking equipment vendors have created discrete hardware product categories and price points based on arbitrary performance segmentation, open networking systems are proving that a single system can be continually upgraded to perform the same tasks. Vyatta solutions can be deployed at multiple points in the hosting data center from the backbone to the customer cage resulting in better performance and significantly faster Return On Investment (ROI).
