Overview DB2 Developer Workbench (DWB) provides out of the box integrated development support for DB2 pureXML. The fact that the DWB is built on top of Eclipse, which is one of the most popular open source IDE, makes it highly extensible. The existing Control Center (CC) tool has been enhanced to provide any XML functionality missing in the DWB. In the rest of the paper the author walks through the process of creating a table with an XML column, creating XML indexes on the column, creating an XML schema and registering it to XSR. Generating a sample XML document from the XML schema and then inserting the XML document to the XML column after first editing it using the XML editor.
