Mobile Malware: Threats and Prevention

Overview Carrying a "smart" mobile phone is almost like having a powerful computer in pocket. An increasing number of phones sold today - especially in Europe - include not only a camera but also extensive online access, keyboards, and other typical computer functions. In this paper, the author discuss vulnerabilities in smart phones based on Windows Mobile. Most of these vulnerabilities are also found on the Windows Mobile PDAs. Because the Symbian OS is similar in many ways to Windows Mobile, Symbian phones may also suffer from these problems.
