Overview Intelligent Message Filter (IMF) was introduced to the World in late 2004 as an add-in for Exchange Server 2003. Today this version is no longer supported; it was replaced by version 2 which is installed automatically with Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2). This paper gives techniques to help defend against spam, viruses and general e-mail attacks, or how Microsoft likes to call it, messaging hygiene.
