Public School District Reduces Virus-Related Incidents With Network Access Protection

Overview Central Islip Public Schools in New York has 1500 employees serving 6500 students. With thousands of employees and students using those 2500 workstations, there is plenty of opportunity for non-compliant computers and users to infiltrate the system. The District wanted both network security and Active Directory management in a server, and it found a solution in Windows Server 2008. They installed Windows Server 2008 and Network Policy Server (NPS) to upgrade the system from Windows Server 2003 R2. The new Windows Server 2008 system can help provide the security it was looking for, and NPS can help identify and update noncompliant systems, reducing virus-related incidents.
