Deploying Outlook 2007 With Business Contact Manager in a Remote Database Configuration

Overview Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager can be deployed in a client/server configuration. If one has a server where Microsoft SQL Server 2005 is installed, he or she can create the Business Contact Manager database without installing Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 on that server. This enables to reuse the existing SQL Server 2005 installation for multiple applications. Moreover it lets one take advantage of the scalability of the existing SQL Server 2005 installation to support multiple clients running Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager. Business Contact Manager for Outlook uses a SQL Server 2005 database for storing its data. By default, configuring Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager with any Outlook profile creates a SQL Server database on the local computer.
