Using Microsoft Windows HPC Server 2008 Job Scheduler

Overview Windows HPC Server 2008, the successor to Windows Compute Cluster Server (WCCS), includes a new Job Scheduler that provides greater scalability and supports advanced policies. The new Job Scheduler supports a new Service Oriented Architecture mode that provides access to interactive applications through the Windows Communication Framework. The graphical interface for the Job Scheduler is now fully integrated into the Administration Console, and the command-line interface now uses Windows PowerShell for all Job Scheduler functions, while maintaining compatibility with the command-line interface commands in WCCS. This paper explains the new Job Scheduler functionality.
