Replication Best Practices for Oracle 10g With ASM & EVA8000
Overview Disk-array-based remote copy infrastructures have been available and in use for over a decade. When properly configured and deployed, they are capable of providing a timely recovery from a variety of failures, up to and including the loss of an entire datacenter site. For this report the authors have distilled information from well-known technical issues, recent customer briefings, and a commissioned study with IDC, and determined that the remote copy of databases must be done in concert with the native RDBMS technology in order for the solution to be practical.
