Best Practices for HP Servers and HP StorageWorks EVA8000 in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Environment

Overview For most businesses, a messaging system is one of the mission-critical tools for effective and fast communication. Because of higher and heavier demands, and increasingly critical data on these systems, performance, security, and cost are clearly the three top priorities requested by customers. Microsoft's recently announced Exchange Server 2007 has been designed to meet these challenges. The HP StorageWorks Customer Focused Testing (CFT) team has assessed the new performance capabilities of Exchange Server 2007 by conducting several exhaustive tests in an enterprise environment (with 5,000 users with 100 MB or 1 GB mailbox size). This paper provides technical information and best practices for sizing and configuring Exchange Server 2007 on HP Blade servers with HP EVA storage.
