Overview A significant change is taking place in the installed base of SAP systems. Although many customers continue to run versions of SAP R/3 software, others have begun to migrate to the SAP NetWeaver platforms. Migrations to the new versions of SAP software require the conversion of the application environment as well as the evaluation and upgrading of the servers and storage infrastructure used to deploy the SAP system. After the new hardware infrastructure has been selected, several factors need to be considered in order to determine the most effective configuration for the deployment of the SAP NetWeaver software onto the new infrastructure.
