Overview Maximizing performance across an organization often requires employees to make decisions quickly, efficiently and appropriately to meet the ongoing challenges of everyday business. However, in reality most organizations couldn't be further from this ideal. Research by Cindi Howson suggests that 75% of business users in current organizations do not have access to the necessary information for them to perform well. As a result, Business Intelligence (BI) investments have often failed to realize their promised ROI, or satisfy wider expectations regarding improving decision making and raising performance. This situation is surprising given the advances in technology. Vendors continue to offer and organizations deploy BI tools to users that are simply too difficult for most people to use. Arguably this situation is getting worse.
