Europe-Wide Industrial Research Project Attains Real-Time Communications
Overview Piloted by the Schneider Group, whose businesses cover electrical distribution and automation and control equipment, the European SIRENA (Service Infrastructure for Real-Time Embedded Networked Applications) project aims by 2005 to develop an information exchange standard for communications devices in cars, for domestic or industrial equipment, and in the telephony sector. The project involves 16 partners, all of which are committed to providing a wealth of information on the project's Web site. Using Microsoft Content Management Server 2002, each partner can manage its own content autonomously, while still ensuring synergy and transparency as the project progresses.
