Karachi Stock Exchange Achieves Zero Downtime With Clustered Database Solution

Overview Founded in 1947, the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) is Pakistan's largest and oldest stock exchange. Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) wanted to implement a robust database platform to run business-critical applications, ensure 24/7 systems availability for online trading and capture and store large amounts of confidential trade data. The challenge was to cater for rapid business growth, minimize IT costs and simplify database maintenance. KSE selected Oracle database technology for its high performance, reliability, security, and open architecture. It also engaged Oracle Certified Advantage Partner Ora-Tech Systems to implement a two-node clustered database platform on Unisys servers, the first such environment in Pakistan's financial services industry.
