Medical Department Uses Intranet to Streamline Document Management, Bolster Communications

Overview The Indiana University Department of Medicine, one of the premier departments of medicine in the United States, is part of the Indiana University School of Medicine. The department has more than 1,200 faculty, residents, and staff, who focus on research, patient care, and medical education. Working with Allegient, a Microsoft Certified Partner, the Department of Medicine deployed an intranet using Microsoft Content Management Server 2002, Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, and other software to better manage and distribute key documents. The solution helps users access the most current version of important documents pertaining to research, medical education, clinical affairs, human resources, payroll, and more while conserving staff resources by making information available through the intranet.
