Overview Electricidad de Caracas used a variety of technology products to keep its business moving, but, increasingly, those tools and technologies weren't contributing to the strategic direction of the company and instead were hindering productivity. The company used the Microsoft Infrastructure Optimization Model to put processes and technologies in place to solve business issues related to desktop, device, and server management; unified communications and collaboration; process automation; and business intelligence and reporting. Electricidad de Caracas updated its technology infrastructure and management tools and is working to improve service to users through higher-quality IT support and integrated systems for easier use by knowledge workers. The company also is expanding its communications capabilities, which will reduce operational costs while increasing user productivity.
