Nonprofit MADD Embraces New Server Virtualization and Boosts Remote Access
Overview Irving, Texas-based Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) provides educational programs, outreach, and activities designed to stop drunk driving, support the victims of drunk driving, and prevent underage drinking. MADD had remote access issues and needed a solution that would provide anti-virus checking at the gateway before allowing access to the network, as well as an SSL VPN solution. MADD ideally needed a new operating system that would support platforms across the line, from application publishing to Web services, portals, system integration, and prescriptive guidance. After considering Linux, UNIX, and Sun Microsystem solutions, NetVision chose Windows Server 2008 to test on a Hewlett-Packard (HP) ProLiant DL380 server featuring multi-core Intel Xeon processors.
