University Enhances Network Security and Decreases IT Administration Costs

Overview The University of Hradec Kralove, a Czech university with more than 7,500 students, needed to increase the security of its IT infrastructure. The university noticed an increase in the number of unsecured computers accessing the network, resulting in virus attacks and IP address conflicts. Partnering with EMWAC Group, the university evaluated the enhancements to Network Access Protection in Windows Server 2008. EMWAC Group deployed prerelease versions of Windows Server 2008 on a test server available to a limited number of users. As a result of this evaluation, the university is now confident that deploying Windows Server 2008 on its remaining network servers will meet its needs for a more secure IT infrastructure.
