Oil Drilling Company Improves Software Delivery With Terminal Services

Overview Although Crosco manages eight sites worldwide that are network-connected, many of the company's employees work in remote or offshore locations. As a result, software distribution was both costly and time-consuming. A companywide upgrade of client software would incur significant travel expenses and could take up to three months to complete. In October 2007, Crosco installed the Windows Server 2008 Standard operating system, including Terminal Services RemoteApp, on a Dell PowerEdge 6800 server computer. The company then delivered Microsoft Office Professional 2007 to all Crosco employees as a Terminal Services application.
