Retail Group to Improve Remote Location IT Maintenance With New Solution
Overview METRO Group has offices and stores in 32 countries throughout the world. Branch environments present business challenges including limited network connectivity, little IT expertise at individual stores, and limited physical security. The company needs a solution that it can use to remotely deploy Windows operating systems and to maintain its infrastructure more easily and securely. METRO Group plans to deploy the Windows Server 2008 Standard operating system in early 2008 to 62 locations in Germany. With 8,000 servers and more than 60,000 workstations worldwide, the company will continue the deployment over three years.
