Wachovia Deploys Enterprise Intranet, Microsoft Services Vital to Quick Launch

Overview Going into the First Union-Wachovia merger, each organization's intranet had strengths and weaknesses. However, neither legacy intranet could adequately fulfill the requirement for a single, consistent, easy-to-maintain intranet. Wachovia thought Microsoft Content Management Server could solve its challenge and engaged Microsoft Services. Microsoft Services partnered with Wachovia's Enterprise Intranet Technologies Channel Development Team to develop a proof of concept demonstrating how the solution would meet Wachovia's unique requirements. Microsoft Services and Wachovia spent the next several months developing the solution and training Wachovia's staff. The Wachovia Enterprise Intranet was launched within five months of engagement and the company is on track to save millions of dollars through productivity, cost efficiencies and availability.
