Virtual Software Demos Reduce Sales Expense and Shorten Sales Cycles
Overview Makers of complex software programs run into challenges when trying to demonstrate their products. They either have to fly prospective customers to demonstration centers, or salespeople have to configure custom demos and carry around expensive computers to run them. VLabSource, of Redmond, Washington, offers a Web-based demonstration management system called DemoPoint that salespeople can use to demonstrate their wares with nothing more than a browser and a broadband Internet connection. VLabSource uses Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 to create virtual machines, which run on Dell PowerEdge server computers powered by dual-core Intel Xeon processors.
