Demon Internet founder, Cliff Stanford has promised to "change the shape of the Internet", by launching a Web hosting facility which will bring telcos, ISPs (Internet service providers) and users under the same roof.
The package provides free intranet applications, Web hosting and an individual URL for each customer. US-based Intranets.com has launched a service offering free intranet services to small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
As well as hosting Office 2000 software, the site will also offer marketing and management facilities. The company's president, Steve Ballmer, said the strategy will include the renting of Office 2000 applications via a dedicated Web site, bCentral.
