Overview In today's competitive business climate, IT has moved from a support organization for the latest and flashiest applications and technology; to focus on business service delivery. There is no shortage of innovation in IT. New approaches and technologies like Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Software as a Service, virtualization, Web services and others can offer enormous paybacks and flexibility. However, if the deployment of these capabilities is not managed in a coordinated way they can also result in cost overruns, missed service levels, frustrated users and compliance headaches. Extending the capability to govern, manage and secure IT with a highly integrated service perspective is the key to increasing the contribution of IT to the enterprise.
