Resolving the E-mail Paradox

Overview It is obvious that attempting to address the E-mail Paradox through conventional methods - such as backing up servers more regularly and putting usage restrictions on users - will not provide a solution to the records-management requirement of quick access to archived e-mails. Indeed, if anything, conventional methods serve only to exacerbate records management problems. E-mail archiving software applications offer the potential to reduce the e-mail load on network infrastructure and make messages readily available, but only at significant cost and complexity. The emerging push paradigm in e-mail archiving, however, promises to provide a simple, cost-effective solution to both sides of the E-mail Paradox.
