With Microsoft Systems Architecture Solution, LearningStation Deploys an 'A+' Educational Service and Lowers Costs $1MM

Overview To provide Internet bandwidth, secure network storage, educational application storage and delivery, and accounts for 850,000 students LearningStation turned to the Microsoft Systems Architecture Solution (MSA). Using MSA to accelerate their deployment, LSI (LearningStation, Inc.) based its service on a documented, tested and carefully designed datacenter built on best-of-breed hardware from MSA solution partners such as Compaq and Cisco Systems, running Microsoft server software. Microsoft retained Navigant Consulting, Inc., to measure the business value and cost savings realized by LSI and its customer. Overall, when LSI used MSA to accelerate the deployment of the datacenter for Arizona schools, it improved project economics by a Net Present Value of nearly $1 million, compared to a non-MSA ASP deployment.
