Overview Compaq Computer Corporation, the second-largest computer company in the world, has 85,000 users and 200,000 Windows desktops around the world. The company wanted to dramatically simplify and improve its computing environment, with the goal of reducing its total cost of ownership, reducing its parts inventory, and reducing management overhead. Compaq built an entirely new network based on Windows 2000 Server and Professional.
